The NBS January Tall Tales evening at the Bekash was well attended.
Tim was hosting this for his Special Event project in the CL manual, assisted by Rob who took on table topics entitled ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’.
One of the seven sins was drawn by each of the four tables, then a speaker from each table explained their sin. A very gentle approach to table topics, thank you Rob.
Jim R gave us a roaring account of his Wrath but assured us that he has control of it, Jim E told us his Pride for shiny motorbikes and the perils of slippery roads. Rob himself told us about Gluttony whilst being fed cake by a waiter whilst cruising down the Nile.
Finally Phil revealed his Friday night Greed at the supermarket bargain shelves, of all places.
The buffet was enjoyed and conversations flowed, followed by 5 Tall tales.
Stephanie – her account of the Underworld turned out to be seeking suitable suitors in Sydney.
Louise – told of a wedding where her fellow bridesmaid was a real bitch!(dog)
Lynda – was sent on a shopping errand for her boss and made it into a swapping spree by placing the high class groceries in Netto bags!
Jim R had the audience spell bound as he recalled his motor boat mishaps when the motors fell off.
Tim – who declared he has never caught a salmon and then told ‘The one that got away ‘story.!
Best Table topic went to Rob proving that you can have your cake and eat it, even if you are in denial.
Jim R and Tim both drew joint first place, sharing the prizes of wine.
Runners up won notebooks (paper ones !)
A special thanks to Jim E and Nicky for timekeeping and vote counting.
